Thai Pongal is uniquely a Tamil Festival that Pays homage to the Sun God for a bountiful harvest.
The traditional festival is for farmers who depend on Mother Earth, the sun, rain, other natural elements and cattle for a harvest of their staple food, rice. This day was celebrated on the 15th of January 2019 by making pots of pongal under a traditionally decorated canopy and colourful kolam patterns within our school premises.
Multicultural values, equality in diversity and integration of social aspects of pongal were conspicuous while the cooked pongal was shared among the members of the staff.
